JOEY
LAZZARO (TWO “Z’s” LIKE THE PIZZA)
TRUMPET/FLUGEL HORN
Joey is not only a retired Air Force Colonel, but also a proud father
of four girls (WOW!). He still made time over seas and here in the states
to travel as a musician. Joey played in bands from Belgium to Kwajalein
Atoll in the Marshall Islands, as well as on the East Coast playing
ragtime, Dixie, salsa and jazz. For years Joey lead his own band, Reunion
Blues, before performing with such groups as the High Street Hijackers,
Southern Comfort, The Desert City Six, The Sunshine People, Stumptown
Jazz Band, Nostalgia and the Stardust Big Band. If that wasn’t
enough for this energetic musician, Joey also cruised the Columbia River
for five years on the Queen of the West paddlewheel boat with the Riverboat
Jazz Band! Whew!
Joey currently performs with six different North West bands as well
as performing with his lovely wife Sandi, an accomplished dancer, at
jazz festivals. He is the newest “Phatt Kattz” to join Lynn
and the “guys”, and they’re proud to have him on board!
RON
NEWTON
BASS
In 1962, Ron first began work with accomplished jazz musician Gaylord
Jones, who taught Ron what the bass guitar was really all about. Later
on the two of them teamed up with the Bill Rowland Olympic Quartet and
played with the group steadily until 1977. During the early 1990’s
under the direction of Gaylord, Ron joined the seventeen piece band
Opus One.
Ron’s other musical accomplishments include the Port Angeles Symphony
directed by Nico Snel, the Sequim high school operetta productions,
PALOA summer musicals, and George Snyder’s OlyJazz Band. Now Ron
not only can claim the fame as an official “Phatt Kattz”,
he also has the nick name “Mr. Smiley”… because whenever
there’s a bass in his hand, and the rhythm pulsing through his
fingertips, there’s a serene smile on his face.

GEORGE
LINDAMOOD
KEYBOARD
While in high school and college, George was playing with several bands,
both as a trumpeter and a keyboard player. Those bands included the
Dez Rubano Quintet, The John Chowning Collegiates, The Rico Zizzi Quartet,
and the Jimmy Driscoll Band in Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania,
New York and Maryland. Egad! Before Heading to the wild North West,
George also performed with the Springfield (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra
and the Yellow Springs (Maryland) Community Band. He even managed a
few pick up gigs in Tokyo and Bangkok along the way.
Since George arrived in Sequim, Washington in 1995, his music achievements
have kept him one busy guy! He has played with Dukes of Dabob Dixieland
group, the Stardust, Take Five, Opus One, Will Mack and Blue Moon Big
Band, Tom Williamson’s Snowbird Band, Gus Lindquist’s Swing
Set Band, Mary Lou Montgomery’s Nostalgia Combo, and George Snyder’s
OlyJazz Band. Currently, George plays lead trumpet with the Stardust
and…of course…keyboards with Lynn Peterson and The Phatt
Kattz!
BOB HAICK (HIKE)
DRUMS
Bob began his professional career as a percussionist at the ripe young
age of fourteen. Performing at jazz festivals, parades, dance halls
and night clubs throughout the states gave Bob a great feel to play
all styles of music including, swing, Latin, pop/jazz, Dixieland,
German and even square dance to name a few.
During Bob’s career, he had the good fortune to play with many
well known professional musicians, all of whom helped nurture Bob’s
drumming skills. These musicians were at one time or another members
of such bands as the Stan Kenton Band, Laurence Welk, Les Brown, Rudy
Valley and Harry Owens.
With his winning smile and enthusiastic drumming, Bob is a wonderful
addition to the Lynn Peterson and The Phatt Kattz band.
